The Methos Chronicles - Ep. 3

The Methos Chronicles

Episode Two

Back

We see Methos, long-haired and scraggly looking, walking through the parched desert as the sun beats mercilessly down from above.

We hear his monologue:

“I don’t know how long I wandered in the deserts. I became a skeleton, not eating or drinking for months. But I could not die. The desert could do nothing to me that Egypt hadn’t already done.”

PHARAOH’S PALACE, ANCIENT EGYPT

The scene shifts to an interior shot. We hear a stern voice ring out.

Voice: “Attend! The Pharaoh’s secretary will now hear complaints!”

Methos is on his knees before a court. A warrior with a spear to his back is standing behind him.

Warrior: “This nomad from the desert was caught stealing figs. What shall be done with him?”

The secretary’s lecherous assistant speaks as the grossly obese secretary observes the pitiful figure kneeling before the court.

Assistant: “Hmm, from the looks of him, he should just be locked up with the old camels. But, seeing him boil in oil would be one option. Or perhaps we could be so lenient as to only take his tongue.”

Secretary: “No. I feel more in the mood for . . . a good beheading.”

Assistant: “Kill him now!”

Suddenly the announcer’s voice rings out again.

Voice: “The Pharaoh Djer comes! Bow down!”

The Pharaoh appears, looking just like the figure painted on the outside of the sarcophagus Dr. Abadi discovered in the present day. We hear a buzzing sound, indicating another Immortal nearby. Methos looks up in astonishment at the approaching majestic figure.

Pharaoh Djer: “Stop! Leave us!”

He indicates Methos.

Pharaoh: “You . . . stay.”
